Sticky Orange Sesame Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

  • 600g chicken thighs, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Directions

In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.

Add chicken cubes to the marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes.

Thread chicken onto soaked skewers.

Grill or cook on a grill pan over medium-high heat for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.

Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.

Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce until thickened and glossy.

Brush the sticky orange glaze over the cooked chicken skewers.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
