Old-Fashioned Meatloaf Recipe 🍽️

Ingredients

For the Meatloaf

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 eggs

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let them sit for 2 minutes so the breadcrumbs soften.

  3. Add the ground beef, chopped onion, eggs, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, parsley, and paprika. Mix gently until everything is evenly combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.

  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan.

  5. In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to make the glaze.

  6. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.

  7. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread the remaining glaze on top.

  8. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until fully cooked and juicy inside.

  9. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it stay moist and hold its shape.
