Ingredients
For the Burgers:
1½ lb (680 g) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
1 tsp kosher salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
For the Butter Topping
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 clove garlic, finely minced (optional)
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

Cheddar, Swiss, or American cheese
Lettuce leaves (for wrapping)
Pickles
Sliced onions
Tomato slices
Mustard
Sugar-free ketchup
Mayonnaise
Instructions
1. Make the Butter Mixture
Combine
Softened butter
Garlic
Parsley
Mix well and refrigerate until needed.
2. Form the Patties
Divide beef into 4 equal portions.
Gently form into patties about ¾ inch (2 cm) thick.
Press a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
3. Cook the Burgers
Grill Method
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
Cook 4–5 minutes per side for medium.
Skillet Method
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
4. Add Cheese (Optional)
Place cheese on burgers during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly to melt.
5. Finish with Butter
Transfer burgers to a plate.
Top each hot burger with 1 tablespoon of the garlic-herb butter and allow it to melt over the meat.
6. Serve
