Garlic Butter Bacon Roasted Cabbage Steaks
This dish features thick slices of cabbage roasted until tender with crispy edges, topped with a rich garlic butter, bacon, and Parmesan mixture. It’s naturally low in carbohydrates, hearty, and works well as a main course or side dish.
Ingredients
For the Cabbage
1 large green cabbage
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Rich Butter Blend
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
4 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Remove any damaged outer cabbage leaves.
Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks without removing the core so the slices stay intact.
Arrange cabbage steaks on the baking sheet.
Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
In a bowl, combine:
Melted butter
Garlic
Bacon
Parmesan
Italian seasoning
Paprika
Parsley (if using)
Spoon the butter mixture generously over each cabbage steak, concentrating most of it in the center.
Bake for 30–40 minutes, until the cabbage is tender and the edges are golden brown.
For extra browning, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
Serve immediately.
