Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and active dry yeast. Stir until evenly mixed.

Step 2: Add Warm Water

Gradually pour in the warm water while mixing. Continue until a soft dough forms. The dough should be smooth and slightly tacky but not sticky.

Step 3: Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for 5–7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth, elastic, and easy to handle.

Step 4: Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Shape the Bread

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten into rounds about ¾ inch thick.

Step 6: Heat the Skillet

Place a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Allow it to preheat for 2–3 minutes.

Step 7: Cook the Bread

Place one or two dough rounds into the skillet, depending on the size of your pan. Cook for 4–5 minutes on the first side until golden brown.

Step 8: Flip and Finish

Turn the bread over and cook for another 4–5 minutes until both sides are golden and the center is fully cooked.

Step 9: Cool and Serve

Transfer the bread to a wire rack or plate. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
