Prep time: 10 minutes | Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ripe Mango: Fresh is best (Alphonso or Honey mangoes are top-tier), peeled and chopped. You can also use canned mango pulp.

  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt: Use Greek yogurt for a thicker consistency or regular whole-milk yogurt for a classic feel.

  • 1/2 cup Milk: To adjust the thickness (dairy or oat milk both work great).

  • 2–3 tbsp Honey or Sugar: Depending on how sweet your mangoes are.

  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cardamom: The secret ingredient for that authentic aroma.

  • Ice Cubes: For a chilled, slushy texture.

  • Garnish: A few extra mango cubes or a pinch of saffron strands.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mango Base: In a high-speed blender, combine the chopped mangoes and your sweetener (honey or sugar). Blend until it forms a completely smooth puree. Pro Tip: Set aside 2–3 tablespoons of this pure mango puree in a small bowl; you’ll use this later to create those beautiful orange swirls seen in the photo.

  2. Combine and Blend: To the remaining puree in the blender, add the yogurt, milk, ground cardamom, and a handful of ice cubes. Blend on high for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is frothy and uniform. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk and pulse again.

  3. The “Swirl” Technique: To get the aesthetic look from your image, take two tall glasses. Drizzle a little of the reserved mango puree down the inside walls of the glasses.

  4. Serve: Carefully pour the blended lassi into the glasses. Use a long spoon or a straw to gently stir just once or twice to pull the puree through the white yogurt base, creating a marble effect.

  5. Final Touch: Top with a few small mango chunks or a dusting of cardamom. Insert a reusable straw, find a sunny spot, and enjoy your homemade tropical treat!
