Mango Kale Smoothie
Ingredients
-
1 cup fresh kale (stems removed, roughly chopped)
-
1 cup frozen mango chunks (adds natural sweetness and chill)
-
1/2 ripe banana (sliced, for a creamy texture)
-
3/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
-
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (adds protein and creaminess)
-
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
Instructions
-
Prep the Greens: Wash the kale thoroughly. Remove the tough inner ribs and stems, keeping only the tender green leaves.
-
Layer the Blender: Add the liquid almond milk and Greek yogurt to your blender first. This helps the blades spin freely and prevents the frozen ingredients from getting stuck.
-
Add the Fruits and Greens: Toss in the chopped kale leaves, frozen mango chunks, and banana slices. If you want a sweeter taste, drizzle your honey or maple syrup on top.
-
Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid and blend on high speed for about 60 to 90 seconds. Keep blending until the green flecks of kale are completely broken down and the mixture looks uniformly smooth and creamy.
-
Adjust and Serve: If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more milk and blend for another 5 seconds. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately while cold!
Tip: If you do not have frozen mango, use fresh mango and add 3 to 4 ice cubes to the blender to achieve that perfect chilled consistency.
