Cheesy Garlic Bread
Ingredients
-
1 large loaf French bread or Italian bread (cut in half lengthwise)
-
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
-
3-4 cloves garlic, finely minced
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
-
1 ½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
A pinch of salt
Instructions
-
Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
-
Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
-
Spread: Place the bread halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the entire surface of both halves.
-
Bake First Stage: Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes until the bread is warm and slightly toasted.
-
Add Cheese: Remove the bread from the oven. Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese across the top of both halves.
-
Melt and Crisp: Return the bread to the oven for another 5–6 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. For a golden-brown top, switch the oven to broil for the last 1–2 minutes, watching it closely so it does not burn.
-
Slice and Serve: Garnish with extra fresh parsley, slice into thick pieces, and serve immediately while warm.
