Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon and Broccoli
Ingredient
For the Salmon & Broccoli
4 salmon fillets, about 5–6 oz each
4 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional
2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
For the Honey Garlic Glaze
¼ cup honey
3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
1. Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
2. Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes.
The combination of honey and soy sauce creates a delicious caramelized glaze, while garlic, ginger, and lemon add depth and freshness.
3. Season the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on one side of the prepared baking sheet.
Brush each fillet generously with the honey garlic glaze. Reserve a little glaze for brushing during cooking.
Season lightly with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Be careful with the salt because soy sauce already adds plenty of seasoning.
4. Add the Broccoli
Place the broccoli florets beside the salmon. Drizzle the broccoli with olive oil and season with a little salt and black pepper.
Toss the broccoli directly on the baking sheet, keeping it in a single layer so it roasts evenly.
5. Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12–16 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon.
Halfway through cooking, brush the salmon with the remaining glaze and gently toss the broccoli.
The salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part.
For extra caramelization, switch the oven to broil for 1–2 minutes at the end. Watch carefully so the honey glaze does not burn.
6. Serve
Remove the salmon and broccoli from the oven. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Serve immediately with steamed rice, quinoa, roasted potatoes, or a fresh cucumber salad. Spoon any flavorful pan juices over the salmon before serving.
