🥭 Tropical Mango & Starfruit Smoothie
Prep time: 10 minutes | Servings: 2
Ingredients
| Category | Item | Quantity |
| The Base | Frozen Mango Chunks | 2 cups |
| Liquid | Coconut Milk (or Almond Milk) | 1 ½ cups |
| Creaminess | Greek Yogurt (plain or vanilla) | ½ cup |
| Sweetener | Honey or Maple Syrup | 1 tbsp (to taste) |
| Zest | Fresh Lime Juice | 1 tsp |
| Garnish | Starfruit (Carambola) | 1 fruit, sliced |
| Toppings | Shredded Coconut & Mint | For garnish |
Instructions
-
Prep the Starfruit: Wash the starfruit thoroughly. Slice it crosswise to create those beautiful star shapes. Set aside two or three slices for garnish and dice the rest if you’d like to blend some into the smoothie (optional).
-
Blend: In a high-speed blender, combine the frozen mango, coconut milk, yogurt, lime juice, and your sweetener of choice.
-
Liquefy: Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk; if you want it colder, add a handful of ice.
-
Assemble: Pour the smoothie into two tall glasses.
-
Decorate: Recreate the look in the photo by placing a starfruit slice on the rim, sprinkling shredded coconut and sliced almonds on top, and adding a fresh mint leaf.
Pro Tips for the Best Texture
-
Frozen is Better: Using frozen mango instead of fresh mango with ice prevents the smoothie from getting “watered down.”
-
Starfruit Ripeness: Starfruit is sweetest when it is mostly yellow with just a hint of green on the edges.
-
Nutty Crunch: The image shows what looks like slivered almonds on the table; feel free to sprinkle some on top for an extra crunch!
