Tropical Green Power Smoothie
Ingredients
-
1 cup Frozen mango chunks (for that bright yellow pop and chill)
-
1/2 Ripe banana (provides the creamy base)
-
1 cup Fresh kale or spinach (loosely packed)
-
1 tbsp Peanut butter or almond butter (seen on the spoon in your photo)
-
1 cup Unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, or water
-
Optional: A drizzle of honey or agave (if you prefer it sweeter)
Instructions
-
Layer the Liquid: Pour your milk or water into the blender first. This helps the blades spin freely and prevents “freezing up.”
-
Add the Greens: Toss in the kale. Blending the greens with the liquid first can help ensure there are no leafy bits left behind.
-
Add the Fruit & Fat: Add the frozen mango, banana, and that dollop of peanut butter.
-
Blend: Start on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for about 45–60 seconds until the texture is completely silky.
-
Adjust: If it’s too thick, add a splash more liquid. If it’s too thin, add a few more frozen mango chunks or a couple of ice cubes.
Quick Tips for the Best Results
-
Remove Kale Stems: For the smoothest texture, pull the kale leaves off the woody center stems before blending.
-
The “Glow”: That bright lime-green color in your photo usually comes from the combination of yellow mango and green kale. If you use berries, the color will turn purple/brown!
-
Protein Boost: Feel free to add a scoop of vanilla protein powder or Greek yogurt to make it more filling.
