🥤 Creamy Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
Prep time: 5 minutes | Servings: 2
Ingredients
-
2 large bananas (frozen works best for a thicker texture)
-
2 cups milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk all work great)
-
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
-
1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla for extra creaminess)
-
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on ripeness of bananas)
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
Handful of ice (if using fresh bananas)
For the Garnish (as seen in the photo):
-
A few banana slices
-
A drizzle of melted peanut butter
-
A sprinkle of crushed peanuts
Instructions
-
Combine: Add the bananas, milk, peanut butter, yogurt, sweetener, and vanilla into a high-speed blender.
-
Blend: Start on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for about 45–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and no chunks remain.
-
Adjust: If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more milk. If you want it thicker, add a few more ice cubes or a spoonful of oats.
-
Decorate: Pour into two glasses. Top each with a couple of banana slices and a few crushed peanuts.
-
The Drizzle: To get that perfect drizzle, microwave 1 tablespoon of peanut butter for 15 seconds until runny, then use a spoon to zig-zag it over the top.
Pro-Tips for the Best Texture
-
Freeze your bananas: Peel them before freezing! Using frozen bananas eliminates the need for ice, which prevents the smoothie from getting “watered down.”
-
Add “Boosters”: You can easily sneak in a tablespoon of chia seeds, flax seeds, or a scoop of protein powder without changing the flavor profile much.
