π Tropical Green Power Smoothie
Serves: 1 | Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
The Base
-
1 cup Frozen pineapple chunks (provides the sweetness and chill)
-
1/2 Ripe avocado (makes it incredibly creamy and adds healthy fats)
-
1 large handful Fresh baby spinach (for that vibrant green color without a “leafy” taste)
-
1 cup Coconut milk or Almond milk (adjust for your preferred thickness)
The Flavor Boosters
-
1 tsp Freshly grated ginger (optional, for a little zing)
-
1 tbsp Hemp seeds or Chia seeds (for added protein)
-
1 tsp Honey or Maple syrup (optional, if you prefer it sweeter)
The Topping (As seen in the photo)
-
1/4 cup Toasted granola or cluster muesli
-
1 pinch Cinnamon or a touch of ground star anise
Instructions
-
Layer the Ingredients: Add the liquid (milk) to your blender first, followed by the spinach, avocado, and finally the frozen pineapple. Placing the frozen items on top helps the blender blades catch everything effectively.
-
Blend: Start on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for about 45β60 seconds until the green flecks are very fine and the texture is completely smooth.
-
Adjust Consistency: If itβs too thick, add a splash more milk. If you want it frostier, add a few ice cubes and pulse.
-
Serve: Pour into a tall glass.
-
Garnish: Top with a generous handful of granola. For a gourmet touch like the photo, sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon over the top.
Tips for Success
-
Frozen is Best: Using frozen pineapple ensures the smoothie is thick and cold without needing to water it down with excess ice.
-
Star Anise Note: While star anise is used as a beautiful garnish in the photo, it has a very strong licorice flavor. If you want that flavor inside the smoothie, only use a tiny pinch of the ground spice!
