Refreshing Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, washed
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1/2 cup chopped pineapple (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut water
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly. Peel and slice the banana. Chop the cucumber, pineapple, and mango into small chunks.
  2. Assemble Ingredients: Place the banana slices, spinach leaves, chopped cucumber, pineapple chunks, mango chunks, and chia seeds into a blender.
  3. Sweeten (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the blender.
  4. Liquid Base: Pour in the unsweetened almond milk or coconut water as the liquid base. This helps in blending all the ingredients smoothly.
  5. Blend: Secure the lid of the blender tightly. Blend all the ingredients on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If desired, add a few ice cubes for a colder smoothie.
  6. Adjust Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, you can add more almond milk or coconut water in small increments until you reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, you can add more fruits or ice cubes.
  7. Serve: Once blended to your liking, pour the smoothie into glasses. You can garnish with a slice of cucumber or a sprinkle of chia seeds for presentation.
  8. Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your refreshing green smoothie immediately for maximum freshness and nutrition.

Notes:

  • Feel free to customize the smoothie based on your preferences. You can add other fruits like berries, kiwi, or apple for variety.
  • For an extra nutritional boost, you can add a handful of kale or Swiss chard along with the spinach.
  • Chia seeds are optional but add fiber and healthy omega-3 fatty acids to the smoothie.
  • Adjust sweetness according to your taste preferences. You can also omit honey or maple syrup if you prefer a lower sugar option.
  • This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Just give it a quick stir before drinking.
