Ginger Cinnamon Lemon Tea

This warm herbal tea combines ginger, cinnamon, and lemon for a naturally aromatic and refreshing drink.


Ingredients

  • 1½ cups water

  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, thinly sliced
    (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)

  • 1 cinnamon stick
    (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)

  • Juice of ½ fresh lemon

  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for sweetness)


Equipment

  • Small saucepan

  • Knife and cutting board

  • Spoon

  • Strainer

  • Mug


Instructions

  1. Boil the water
    Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil over medium heat.

  2. Add spices
    Add the sliced ginger and cinnamon stick to the boiling water.

  3. Simmer
    Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes.
    This allows the flavors to infuse into the water.

  4. Strain
    Remove from heat and strain the tea into a mug to remove the ginger and cinnamon.

  5. Add lemon and sweetener
    Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
    Add honey if desired and mix well.

  6. Serve
    Drink warm.


Optional Variations

  • Add a few mint leaves for a fresh aroma

  • Add a small piece of turmeric for extra flavor

  • Use orange juice instead of lemon for a sweeter citrus taste


Storage

  • Best enjoyed fresh

  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and reheated gently
