Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thin strips

- Salt, to taste

Instructions:
- Rinse the potato strips under cold water to remove excess starch. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large, heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the potato strips in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the fryer. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Sprinkle the hot fries with salt immediately after removing them from the oil.
- Serve the French fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
