Creamy Banana Date Shake
Prep time: 5 minutes | Servings: 1-2
Ingredients
Dates: 4–6 Medjool dates (pitted). If they are a bit firm, soak them in warm water for 5 minutes first.
Banana: 1 large frozen banana (using a frozen one makes it extra creamy).
Milk: 1 ½ cups of your preferred milk (oat, almond, or dairy).
Flavor Boosters: ½ tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.
Optional Toppings: A dollop of Greek yogurt or whipped coconut cream, and an extra date for garnish (as seen in the image).
Instructions
Prep the Dates: Ensure all dates are pitted. This is crucial to avoid damaging your blender or finding hard bits in your drink.
Combine: Add the frozen banana, pitted dates, milk, vanilla, and salt into a high-speed blender.
Blend: Start on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend until the dates are completely pulverized and the texture is silky smooth.
Adjust Consistency: If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk. If you want it colder/thicker, add a handful of ice and pulse.
Serve: Pour into a glass and top with a little cream and a date garnish to match the photo!
Pro Tips
Nutty Twist: Add 1 tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter for extra protein and a richer flavor.
Spice it up: A dash of cinnamon or cardamom pairs beautifully with the caramel notes of the dates.
