For the Meatloaf:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon dried sage
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, finely chopped green bell pepper, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten eggs, salt, pepper, and all the dried herbs and spices (thyme, basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary, and sage). Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and yellow mustard to make the glaze.
- Pour the glaze mixture over the meatloaf, spreading it evenly on top.
- Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Slice the meatloaf into thick slices and serve.
