Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 400g (14 oz) spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, and chopped celery to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, red wine (if using), and tomato paste. Stir to combine.
- Season with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese.
