Cheesy Baked Potato Casserole

Ingredients
Potatoes

2 lbs (about 1 kg) Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes

Peeled and sliced into rounds or cut into cubes
Cream Sauce

1½ cups heavy cream
-
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
Cheese
-
2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Topping
-
½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
-
¼ cup freshly chopped dill or chives
Instructions
1. Boil the Potatoes

Place the sliced or cubed potatoes into a large pot.

Cover with salted water.

Bring to a boil and cook for 8–10 minutes, just until slightly tender.

Drain well and set aside.
2. Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly grease a baking dish.
3. Layer the Casserole
-
Arrange half of the potatoes evenly in the baking dish.

Sprinkle with half of the cheese and half of the bacon.

Add the remaining potatoes on top.
4. Add the Cream Sauce
-
In a bowl, whisk together the cream, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Pour evenly over the layered potatoes.
5. Bake

Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.

Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the top is golden.
6. Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle with fresh dill or chives before serving.

Serve warm as a side dish or main course.
