Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescent Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Fresh chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Roll out the crescent roll dough in the prepared baking dish, pressing it to cover the bottom evenly.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Spread this mixture over the crescent roll dough.
  5. Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Pour this mixture over the sausage layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the center is set and the edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh chives if desired.
