1β2 inch fresh ginger root (peeled & sliced or grated)
4 cups water
1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
1 tsp honey (optional, skip for weight loss)
Pinch black pepper (optional β boosts absorption)

Add water and ginger to a pot.
Bring to a boil.
Simmer on low heat for 10β15 minutes.
Turn off heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Strain into a cup.
Add lemon or honey if desired.
Drink warm.
